When Sarita contacted me to design her wedding invitations, I could hardly wait to get started. Sarita wanted an invitation that would wow her guests, and be the ultimate opener to her chic, over the top celebration. Her colors were classic black and white with a modern twist, and her inspiration was all about black and white stripes, lucite, mirrored tables and lots of white orchids and flowers…

For her invitation she wanted something unique and nontraditional. A pocket folder that would house all the information she needed her guests to receive in a chic way. Clean lines, simplistic style. The first thing I designed for Sarita was her custom monogram, which she feel in love with immediately!

This monogrammed seal was the first thing her guests saw when they took the invitation out of the black inner envelope. I also incorporated a diamond pattern from the ceiling of Sarita’s venue onto the cover of her pocket folder.

Guests opened the folder to reveal the invitation which was a combination of flat and thermography printing. The invitation was framed by black lace over black paper, which was really stunning and Sarita’s guests loved it!

Of course, the mailing and reply envelope had custom stamps!

We embellished the monogram on the inside with a single crystal, which was perfect and added just the right amount of bling.

In addition to the invitations, I also designed table numbers, programs, menus, and signage for Sarita and Jarett’s wedding. I love when clients book me to designs all their wedding day papers, because it gives them a well branded cohesive look that really elevates the style of the wedding!

For Sarita’s menu, she wanted something chic and unique that would fit with her place settings. On the day of the wedding, the MENU down the middle was covered by black satin napkins that were each embroidered with Sarita and Jarett’s custom monogram. Very stunning!

For her table number, we again brought in the black lace and crystal accents.

Sarita and Jarett’s wedding was absolutely stunning, and I can’t wait to share it with you after it gets publication. Huge congratulations to them on their special day!

As soon as I met with Sarah and Matty I knew they were going to be an absolute blast to work with. Sarah is a doll, and Matty a comedian. Both have a terrific sense of humor that I really wanted to shine through in their wedding invitation. Getting married at the Montecito Country Club, their wedding was to be a combination of rustic details with hints of modern charm. Lots of texture, succulents and warm inviting colors of wine, brick red, grey, chocolate brown and dark teal…

Sarah loved rosemary, so I suggested we tie it around the invitation to give her guests something beautiful to look at as well as lovely to smell. The rosemary also tied in with Sarah and Matty’s favors. To further give the invitation texture, since that played a big part in their wedding, I backed the invitation itself with a wine colored linen cloth.

One of the things Sarah and Matty cherish together is their dog Jonsey, who also played a role in their proposal story. I thought Jonsey would be a perfect addition to their invitation suite. We did a custom pen and ink of Jonsey among rose petals, which fit with their proposal story as Jonsey was running around in them and eating them as Matty was trying to propose!

Again, playing into Sarah and Matty’s fun personalities, I thought it would be great to do a mad lib reply card! A great way to steer away from the traditional replies, and these reply cards were then displayed at the wedding so the guests could all see what they each wrote. Another fun idea!

Sarah and Matty also had me design custom menus, programs, rehearsal dinner invitations, thank you cards and seating cards.

I loved Sarah and Matty’s seating cards, which we styled as book marks complete with little eyelets at the top.

Besides the invitation, my all time favorite thing to work on for Sarah and Matty was their menu. They didn’t want a traditional menu, and instead wanted it to be funny. I went to work coming up with lines for their menu, and spent a good afternoon in my office cracking myself up at some of their selections! What an absolutely fun project. Sarah and Matty came up with different trivia for each menu that related to them, which I had so much fun reading, and cracking up at! Laughter really is the best medicine!

I am so thrilled I had the opportunity to work with such a fun couple. Sarah and Matty’s wedding was a stunning celebration! I can’t wait to share their day with you soon.

So thrilled to be featured in the latest issue of the beautiful publication, Weddings In Houston!

As soon as I met with Sarah I knew we were going to have an amazing time working together. Not only is she a super fun person, her wedding style was right up my alley! Vintage 1920′s, minus the flapper. Sarah said she didn’t want her guests to think they had to show up wearing derby hats, which I loved. In essence, capture the era, minus the fashion. Sarah’s colors were cream, dark eggplant and shades of grey with hints of silver…

Sarah’s invitation goes on the list of my favorites from 2011. With foil stamping, laser cutting, a custom map and vintage photograph from Santa Barbara, it was truly a sight to behold.

The invitation itself was silver foiled, which looked so amazing on the charcoal paper we used. The map was hand drawn by Sarah’s aunt! Stunning with such amazing details!

The image on Sarah’s reply card, was an actual vintage photo taken at one of Santa Barbara’s beautiful beaches.

Custom stamps completed the look of this glamorous invitation suite. In addition to the invitation, I also designed table numbers, menus, thank you notes, and bridesmaid invitations for Sarah.

Danielle and Erik were married earlier this year in a stunning wine country celebration. You may remember their invitation we designed and shared a while back here.

I am incredibly excited to share their wedding with you today. Photographed by Mary Jane Photography, and coordinated by Joy Proctor of Joy de Vivre Weddings, this celebration is full of ornate details, soft colors, and inspiration galore.

With a wedding at the stunning Dresser Mansion, and a style warm and inviting, I knew Carrie and Alan would be a fun couple to work with right from the start. Their wedding was to be formal, but casual enough not to feel stuffy. Carrie wanted to bring the Art Deco style of Dresser Mansion into her wedding style, as well as the vintage charm and elegance the mansion exudes. Using her color palette of browns, warm golds and soft cream I set out to work on her invitations.

Carrie wanted her invitation design to use several different fonts, laid out in a very nontraditional style which I was totally on board for.

For the outside of the invitation, we used a velvet belly band with custom wax seal to hold the pocket folder closed. Beautiful calligraphy and custom map was done by Pretty Pen Jen.

I had a lot of favorite things about this invitation, but one in particular was the pen and ink drawing we did of Dresser Mansion that went on the reply card.

Last but not least, completing the look were the custom stamps for the mailing envelopes.

Tip: Even if you can’t afford to go the custom route for your wedding invitation, getting a custom stamp will really elevate the look of your wedding invitations and make the invitation more personal.

I was thrilled with how Carrie and Alan’s invitation suite came together, and they were as well! Hopefully more to come of their lovely wedding soon!

Emily and David were getting married in the beautiful Our Lady Mount Carmel Church in Montecito, with their reception taking place at the Historical Museum in downtown Santa Barbara. Their celebration was to be rustic and beautiful with lots of herb accents and wooded details.

Emily loved the fountain in the courtyard of the museum, so I thought it would be fun to incorporate a custom pen and ink of the fountain onto the folding reply card.

Magnolia flowers and branches were going to play a big part in the decor and floral design, so we used these branches on the wedding invitation, as well as on the mailing envelope design.

Also in this suite, was a reception card for Emily and David’s reception at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. We used the same tile pattern from the reply card on the reception card, bringing in a little old world Santa Barbara to the suite.

I also worked with Emily and David on their wedding menus and seating cards. For their seating card, we used design motifs from the invitation as entree designations on the seating cards. A great way to tie the whole look together.

Amanda and Adam were engaged in Italy, and married in Santa Barbara, California. Their colors were red and orange with a neutral cream base. Getting married at the Montecito Country Club, they wanted their paper products to reflect a rustic Santa Barbara style.

I worked with Amanda and Adam on all their wedding day papers, starting with their save the dates. For their save the date, they wanted a magnet that would convey all the necessary information. I went to work designing a magnet that thought a little outside the box. I wanted to make sure Amanda and Adam got a nice luxury save the date, rather than a, pardon my expression, “flimsy” magnet. I wanted something substantial, that people would keep on their fridge, rather than toss once the celebration was over.

Since Amanda and Adam were engaged in Italy, I also did a little bit of a travel theme on the save the date, which echoed the theme on their wedding website as well.

For their invitation, Adam really loved wax seals so, of course, we incorporated that onto the invitation’s belly band with a custom monogram.

Since this was a destination wedding for Amanda and Adam, I decided to incorporate a vintage style postcard for their reply card. The images were shots taken around their venue, the Montecito Country Club. It also played into the slight travel theme we had going on, which was great!

In addition to the invitations and save the dates, I also designed couture menus, programs, seating cards, thank you notes, and custom printed cocktail napkins.

I really liked their menu…

but I LOVED their program!

Amanda and Adam were such a pleasure to work with, and I can’t wait to share their wedding with you! Congratulations Amanda and Adam!!
