Color Palette: Mustard Yellow and Blue

Springtime on the Central Coast of California brings many beautiful flowers into bloom. One in particular covers entire hillsides and is incredibly beautiful. It’s call mustard, and it’s actually a weed but when it grows together in mass amounts it makes for some beautiful landscapes. This palette was inspired by the color of the yellow hillsides against the beautiful blue sky.

Color Palette: Apricot, Pink and Gold

Inspired by the middle picture, I added gold to make the palette not so feminie with just peaches, pinks and whites.

Color Palette: Garden White, Green and Pink

Springtime is one of the most beautiful times of year. Blossoms blooming everywhere make for beautiful backdrops for weddings and pictures. This color palette was inspired by the top left image. I’m envisioning an event taking place among incredible white blooming trees and shrubs, luxurious linens on the tables with padded rustic garden chairs. All white florals as not to compete with the surroundings, with accents of pink on the bridesmaids and perhaps on the china and favors. Something formal, yet casual all at the same time.

Color Palette: Gray and Apple Green

When paired together, green and gray can make an elegant combination with a hint of modern. Green apples are a nice, budget friendly way to add color to your decor and clippings of bright green foliage work well in bud vases. I love the idea of using silver candelabras to fancy the decor up a bit, however this color scheme can also be played down to a more casual affair as well.

Color Palette: Fuchsia and Gold with Black & White Stripes

This has to be one of my favorite color palettes of all time. That’s a pretty strong statement I know, but I am so completely smitten with the black and white stripes, the shimmery gold and the dark sultry fuchsia to top it off. It’s classic, elegant, glamorous, chic, fun and perfect for any time of the year.

Color Palette: Peachy-pink, Warm White and Silver

Peach is such a versatile color when it comes to weddings. It can be used as more of an apricot color, or toned down to a peachy-pink, as is used here. I’ve added a warm creamy white and silver to compliment this color, perfect for a spring or winter wedding.

Color Predictions for 2010, part V {The Favorite}

As most of you know, I absolutely love color, so doing these color predictions was really fun for me. The hard part, though, is picking a favorite. Since I am drawn to all different types of color for different reasons, it’s been hard for me to narrow it down, but I think I narrowed it down enough to a few colors. =) Below is a color palette for my favorite combination of colors from our color predictions for 2010. I’ve added in a dark gold to this palette. I love the dark gold alternative to the bright metallic golds we have been seeing lately.

Color Predictions for 2010, part II {The Lights}

The Lights

(white and cream)

We saw the pairing of these two neutrals together in 2009, and I think we’ll see even more of it this year. I love the classic look these colors can give. Pair them with gold and black or chocolate brown and you have an incredibly chic palette.
