A few weeks ago I received my new issue of Pointe Magazine and fell in love with the color on the cover. Maria Riccetto’s dress, along with the background color is just about as fun and spring-y as you can get. This color palette was inspired by the cover of Pointe, located in the top center of the color palette. As I was making this palette, I decided to throw little hints of gray into the mix just to see how I liked it, and I think that would be a definite option for an added color to this palette. What do you think?

For this color palette I was completely inspired by vintage pearls. I combined the creamy color of pearls with soft pink and elegant gold for a timeless and classic look.

Springtime on the Central Coast of California brings many beautiful flowers into bloom. One in particular covers entire hillsides and is incredibly beautiful. It’s call mustard, and it’s actually a weed but when it grows together in mass amounts it makes for some beautiful landscapes. This palette was inspired by the color of the yellow hillsides against the beautiful blue sky.

Springtime is one of the most beautiful times of year. Blossoms blooming everywhere make for beautiful backdrops for weddings and pictures. This color palette was inspired by the top left image. I’m envisioning an event taking place among incredible white blooming trees and shrubs, luxurious linens on the tables with padded rustic garden chairs. All white florals as not to compete with the surroundings, with accents of pink on the bridesmaids and perhaps on the china and favors. Something formal, yet casual all at the same time.

In an alternative to regular purple I thought more of an Eggplant purple might look nice with a mustard color yellow. Organic chic with hints of vintage charm.

Peach is such a versatile color when it comes to weddings. It can be used as more of an apricot color, or toned down to a peachy-pink, as is used here. I’ve added a warm creamy white and silver to compliment this color, perfect for a spring or winter wedding.

As most of you know, I absolutely love color, so doing these color predictions was really fun for me. The hard part, though, is picking a favorite. Since I am drawn to all different types of color for different reasons, it’s been hard for me to narrow it down, but I think I narrowed it down enough to a few colors. =) Below is a color palette for my favorite combination of colors from our color predictions for 2010. I’ve added in a dark gold to this palette. I love the dark gold alternative to the bright metallic golds we have been seeing lately.

This color palette would look beautiful with just about any accent color (soft pink, vintage yellow, navy blue…). It could also stand on it’s own and be a more muted color palette with touches of sparkle and elegance, or toned down for an organic vintage celebration.
