Color Palette: Mustard Yellow and Blue

Springtime on the Central Coast of California brings many beautiful flowers into bloom. One in particular covers entire hillsides and is incredibly beautiful. It’s call mustard, and it’s actually a weed but when it grows together in mass amounts it makes for some beautiful landscapes. This palette was inspired by the color of the yellow hillsides against the beautiful blue sky.

Color Palette: Soft Grey, Black and Mint

Grey can sometimes be thought of as a modern color, but here it’s very feminine when paired with a mint green, light pink and black. The black adds a bit of classic style to an otherwise whimsical palette.

Color Palette: Garden White, Green and Pink

Springtime is one of the most beautiful times of year. Blossoms blooming everywhere make for beautiful backdrops for weddings and pictures. This color palette was inspired by the top left image. I’m envisioning an event taking place among incredible white blooming trees and shrubs, luxurious linens on the tables with padded rustic garden chairs. All white florals as not to compete with the surroundings, with accents of pink on the bridesmaids and perhaps on the china and favors. Something formal, yet casual all at the same time.

Soft and utterly romantic, this color palette would be perfect for a Spring time celebration. Throw in some gold or silver to make it a little more formal.

Color Palette: French Country Elegance

France is such a romantic and utterly breathtaking country. The language, the countryside and the incredible cuisine all are inspiration in themselves. Today’s inspiration board is inspired by a wedding in the French countryside. I’m envisioning garden fresh floral arrangements, vintage mercury glass, hints of lavender, delectable cheeses and a not so formal wedding cake. In a nutshell laid back celebration full of charm and elegance.

Color Palette: Pink and Grey

Modern with a touch of whimsy is what this color palette is all about. The grey makes a nice contrast to the feminine color and softness of the pink.

Color Palette: Venetian Glamour

I have a complete fascination with Venice and Italy in general, so I was very excited to create this inspiration board/color palette. I think a combination of grayish white, red, gold and black would be wonderful here, and not compete with the surrounding of extraordinary colors.

Color Palette: Fuchsia and Gold with Black & White Stripes

This has to be one of my favorite color palettes of all time. That’s a pretty strong statement I know, but I am so completely smitten with the black and white stripes, the shimmery gold and the dark sultry fuchsia to top it off. It’s classic, elegant, glamorous, chic, fun and perfect for any time of the year.

Color Palette: Peachy-pink, Warm White and Silver

Peach is such a versatile color when it comes to weddings. It can be used as more of an apricot color, or toned down to a peachy-pink, as is used here. I’ve added a warm creamy white and silver to compliment this color, perfect for a spring or winter wedding.

Color Predictions for 2010, part V {The Favorite}

As most of you know, I absolutely love color, so doing these color predictions was really fun for me. The hard part, though, is picking a favorite. Since I am drawn to all different types of color for different reasons, it’s been hard for me to narrow it down, but I think I narrowed it down enough to a few colors. =) Below is a color palette for my favorite combination of colors from our color predictions for 2010. I’ve added in a dark gold to this palette. I love the dark gold alternative to the bright metallic golds we have been seeing lately.
