Speaking of Magpies Cakes (from our Wednesday post), how about the absolutely incredible stained glass cake featured top left? When I saw this picture I immediately saved it because I mean really, how stunning is this cake! I decided to make a color palette around the cake and came up with a beautiful, soft, Spring time feeling color palette using soft blue, green and a toned down rosy pink/red.

Color Palette: Gray and Apple Green

When paired together, green and gray can make an elegant combination with a hint of modern. Green apples are a nice, budget friendly way to add color to your decor and clippings of bright green foliage work well in bud vases. I love the idea of using silver candelabras to fancy the decor up a bit, however this color scheme can also be played down to a more casual affair as well.

Color Palette: Pink and Grey

Modern with a touch of whimsy is what this color palette is all about. The grey makes a nice contrast to the feminine color and softness of the pink.

Color Palette: Golden Yellow and Warm Orange

Even though winter is almost upon us, I am still loving the warm fall tones of turning leaves. Those golden yellows and crisp oranges are such warm and inviting colors, it would be easy to use them for a winter time wedding as well.

I’m loving the utter sophistication and elegance of this color palette. I think the navy in place of black is a lovely alternative.

Color Palette: Black, Green and White

Classic black and green. I’ve always thought these colors would look beautiful with gold jewelry. Especially for a chic city wedding.

Color Palette: Peacock Blue, Green and Gold

This color palette is for one of our readers, Roopa. She writes:

To provide you with a bit of background, we will be having a traditional Indian ceremony and a reception to follow. Typically, Indian weddings fall into the maroon, orange and gold palette. Recently there has been a surge of hot pink into the color mix, but that really isn’t me. While we want our wedding and reception to be traditional, but I would really like my colors and decor to be unique to our event. My finance’s favorite color is blue, so I was thinking that Peacock blue with green and gold accents would be a nice combination for the Indian/Fall wedding that we will be having. I am having a hard time finding inspiration to put these colors into action and was hoping you might be able to help me. I am certainly not limited to those three colors, so any suggestions you might have would be great.

When Roopa emailed me, I immediately was drawn to her chosen colors! I love the end result of this board, and hope it can help Roopa visualize her colors a little bit better. I know her wedding celebration will be absolutely beautiful!
