Even though winter is almost upon us, I am still loving the warm fall tones of turning leaves. Those golden yellows and crisp oranges are such warm and inviting colors, it would be easy to use them for a winter time wedding as well.

This color palette is for one of our readers, Dolores. She and her fiance are getting married next fall, and wanted the main color for their celebration to be burnt orange, with brown and gold as the accent colors. I love this color combination for a fall wedding, and I hope this palette can help Dolores plan out her perfect day!

This color palette is for one of our readers, Maria. She writes:
I was wondering if you could help me with a color palette for my daytime October 25th wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. My problem seems to be that I like too many color schemes and can’t decide on one particular one! We’re going to be serving paella as the main course meal. I really don’t know how to tie all these things together in a color scheme! Would be so grateful for your help.
Maria decided she liked a brown and green color scheme, with the pops of pink from the bridesmaid dresses her maids will be wearing. Below is the board we put together for her.

This color palette was inspired by the floral arrangement in The Devil Wears Prada, when Andy is sitting in the hotel room in Paris talking to Miranda. The arrangement is right behind Andy and its stunning! Sorry I couldn’t find a picture but you’ll get the idea with the board. =)

This color palette is for Kristina, who is getting married next month and wanted to see a fall color scheme with chocolate brown and cranberry red as the main colors. I threw in a little champagne as an accent color as well. I think this palette is so elegant and warm and would be beautiful for a Fall color palette. Good luck to Kristina as the last details of your wedding come together!

Last week we posted a color palette with seafoam, white and black and I said that this week we would be taking some of the same colors from the seafoam, white and black color palette and making into a whole different look. Well here it is! Black is substituted for light brown. I love how you can take the same colors, and even some of the same pictures and make a color palette with a completely different feel. The other color palette was very formal, while this one has a casual feeling. The bridesmaid’s dress and bouquet are the same in both palettes, yet they could be used in either setting.

Believe it or not, this color palette was actually inspired by my bathroom. That’s right I said bathroom. I have this display of old glassware on my counter top with a vase of brown branches and my bathroom is painted green (see the picture below).
I changed the green in the color palette to a little brighter green than is actually in my bathroom. I love the end result! I have to say how much in love I am with the cake in the color palette!! It is by Jan Kish-La Petite Fleur of Columbus, Ohio. I envision this color palette for a beautiful country club wedding, or an event at a chic downtown restaurant.

Today’s color palette is for another one of our readers, Linda. Linda is getting married in a beautiful church and having her reception at an equally beautiful club. Linda wanted a color palette with shades of brown and champagne with pops of red. She also wanted to incorporate a vintage feel into her wedding, similar to the vintage feel her engagement ring has. Here are my ideas for Linda, and the color palette I designed for her.
Ideas for the ceremony:
Bridesmaids: I can see them in elegant, long brown dresses, such as the one pictured in the color palette, with faux fur wraps such as these. (picture from here)
Their flowers can be similar to the bouquet pictured in the color palette at the top. You can change the dark flowers to red, or to incorporate pops of red into the ceremony you can wrap the stems of the bouquets in red ribbon.
Bride (Linda): I can see Linda in a dress similar to the one in the color palette, minus the hat. Her flowers can be like the bridesmaid’s bouquets but slightly altered to include maybe a little more red, or no red at all. I can see the stems of her bouquet wrapped in crystals, or with a crystal monogram. Something sparkly to give it a little glamour.
For the reception:
I envisioned champagne colored table cloths with brown napkins and red floral centerpieces, such as the flowers located in the bottom portion of the color palette. To continue with the vintage theme, the floral centerpieces can be placed on faux fur and the faux fur can be sprinkled with swarovski crystals, again to give it a little glamour. Faux fur can be purchased here, or you can search for it at your local fabric stores. Linda’s reception site reminded me somewhat of the club from the movie The Aviator. Here is a picture from the movie, taken in the fictional club. (Picture from here) Linda could also do something like the picture, and have little lamps on each table to give the setting a more intimate feel. If you haven’t seen The Aviator, I would recommend watching it just for the sets and costumes; they are SO neat and very vintage.
Last but not least, here is the color palette I designed for Linda. I hope this can help her get an idea of what she wants and plan a gorgeous glamorous event!

For some reason I have been really into color palette’s lately. This one was inspired by some shells that I have (pictured bottom row, middle). I love the outcome of this board. The beach gives it a casual feel, but the colors and decor lean towards an elaborate and sumptuous event, perfect for spring or summer.
