Inspired by the image in the top right corner, I envision an event full of fun and color; muted color that is. A while back we did our color predictions for the year, and Muted Brights was one of our predictions. I still love the pairing of toned down bright colors, and think they are perfect for an event any time of the year.

Color Palette: Mustard Yellow and Blue

Springtime on the Central Coast of California brings many beautiful flowers into bloom. One in particular covers entire hillsides and is incredibly beautiful. It’s call mustard, and it’s actually a weed but when it grows together in mass amounts it makes for some beautiful landscapes. This palette was inspired by the color of the yellow hillsides against the beautiful blue sky.

Color Predictions for 2010, part V {The Favorite}

As most of you know, I absolutely love color, so doing these color predictions was really fun for me. The hard part, though, is picking a favorite. Since I am drawn to all different types of color for different reasons, it’s been hard for me to narrow it down, but I think I narrowed it down enough to a few colors. =) Below is a color palette for my favorite combination of colors from our color predictions for 2010. I’ve added in a dark gold to this palette. I love the dark gold alternative to the bright metallic golds we have been seeing lately.

Color Predictions for 2010, part IV {The Darks}

The Darks

(navy blue, black and grey)

While I think black will always remain a classic color for weddings, interiors and fashion, navy blue is still coming on strong as it’s contender. Navy has a preppy and classic look to it, and can be used in place of black in almost any circumstance. Gray has been popular for some time now, and while I don’t think it can replace black completely, it’s a nice alternative to black or navy blue.

Muted Brights

While bright colors are still a popular accent for weddings and interiors, I think a more muted palette of these same colors will be a popular addition this year. These colors are incredibly versatile and are perfect for spring and summer weddings.

Sultry Jewel Tones

Paired with muted colors or making a statement on their own, these colors are sure to get more attention this year. I love them not only for weddings, but interior design as well. That bedroom pictured bottom left, by Kishani Perera, is absolutely to die for.

Color Palette: Royal Blue and Hot Pink

This color palette was inspired by the insanely gorgeous new cover for WedLuxe Wedding Magazine. I am completely in love with the color blue, and the subtle little hints of deep rich pink.
