    Decorating with Fabric

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, do it yourself, inspiration, wedding decor

Have an ugly wall you need to cover at your reception? Or just looking for a way to spruce up a ceremony or reception? Fabric may be the answer. Incredibly versatile, fabric can be used in a variety of situations for your wedding celebrations. I love the look of it draped across a ceiling, or stretched out to create an “outdoor” ceiling. Just a few weeks ago, I was the stylist of my best friend’s wedding and I suggested using black fabric to cover the not so pretty pictures in her reception hall, then to hang their e-session pics on the black fabric, creating something much more pleasing to the eye and fun to look at.

Below are some of my favorite inspirations at the moment for decorating with fabric.

    Vintage Love Shoots

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, engagement, inspiration, photography, vintage inspiration, wedding decor, Wedding Fashion

I have been seeing a lot of vintage inspired e-sessions and weddings around the web lately, and I have to say I’m a big fan. Whether it’s 1950′s or 1930′s, each and every wedding or e-session is unique and personal. Below are some of my favorites.

    Inspiration Abounds in Fruit

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, eco friendly weddings, inspiration, invitations, wedding decor

If you have read this blog for a while, you know by now that I’m a big fan or fruit. Eating it, as well as decorating with it. Besides being budget and eco friendly, fruit looks beautiful when paired with flowers, or it can stand on it’s own. It can be used to spruce up a cake, as a centerpiece or as decor around your reception or ceremony site. Below are some of my favorite fruit inspirations.

    Looking Up

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, ceremony, home decor, inspiration, wedding decor

The ceiling, known as the 5th wall by some, is sometimes forgotten when it comes to home and wedding decor. I am always in awe of wedding celebrations where the ceiling is used to hang something extraordinary. There are several planners who have this down to a tee. Lisa Vorce and Michelle Rago are two of them. I absolutely love how Lisa uses the “ceiling” to decorate, even when the event is outside. Below are some of my favorite images using the ceiling to decorate.

    Organic Chic Wedding Style

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, inspiration, invitations, wedding decor

Have you ever noticed that a lot of weddings that take place at wineries have a certain look to them? It’s a soft, chic, organic style with muted colors and beautiful “fresh picked from the garden” florals. I simply love this look, especially for Spring weddings. I know we are in the dead of winter but everybody can use a little Spring in their lives, especially those Spring brides out there looking for inspiration. Below are some of my favorite inspirations for organic chic weddings.

    Perfect Peach

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, COLOR PALETTE, inspiration, Peach, wedding decor

Soft, feminine, and utterly enticing, peach is one of my favorite colors for all things wedding. It’s such a nice alternative to pink, and can be paired with bright flashy colors or soft muted tones. Either way, peach is a perfect choice for any type celebrations.

    Delightful Dahlia

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, Fall inspirations, floral design, wedding decor

I absolutely love dahlias. They are so versitle and can be used in many different settings be it a vintage or modern celebration. They look good paired with other flower types or alone in bud vases. My favorites are the bouquets that look fresh picked from a garden, and have that informal look to them.

    Decorated, naturally

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, do it yourself, eco friendly weddings, Fall inspirations, floral design, wedding decor, weddings on a budget

I love the idea of using natural elements to decorate for a wedding or party. Tree branches to string crystals from, moss to add a little special something to a flower arrangement or pieces of cut wood to elevate a vase or cake stand. These are unexpected and very budget friendly ways to decorate. Not to mention, very eco-friendly! You don’t necessarily have to have an outdoor theme wedding to use these elements. See some inspiration below.

    Table Talk

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, trends, wedding decor

There are basically two different table setups you can do at weddings. That is long banquet style tables and round tables that fit anywhere from 8-12 people each. Of course, round tables make it easier to carry on conversations, but the long banquet tables allow for unique centerpieces and regal feeling seating arrangements. For a unique look, try a combination of both.
