Etsy shop Flores Del Sol creates beautiful modern floral arrangements from professionally preserved flowers and moss. I love that these flowers will last forever, but aren’t fake! Such a wonderful alternative. I am simply loving everything Flores Del Sol has to offer, and encourage you to head on over to their shop and take a look around!

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, COLOR PALETTE, Color Trends, I love..., inspiration, real weddings, wedding decor
A while back 100 Layer Cake featured this wedding, photographed by Michele M. Waite, and I have to say it’s one of my favorite weddings to date simply because of the way the color scheme was done. The bride, Melanie, wanted a wedding that was bright and vibrant, but also soft and timeless. I love how she put the wedding party in fun and vibrant colors…
…and used soft muted tones for the reception…
You would think that these colors might clash, but on the contrary, it’s quite stunning! This just goes to show that you don’t have to have one set color scheme for both your ceremony and reception. I hope we see a growing trend of multiple color schemes for weddings. It’s such fun and definitely keeps things fun for the guests.
Melanie also had her bridesmaids carry balloons down the aisle which I thought was a fun idea! For more of this wonderful wedding visit Michele’s blog and 100 Layer Cake.

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, inspiration, wedding decor
A while back I was creating some signs for a photoshoot and was searching the web for some inspiration. I couldn’t seem to find any blog posts on signs so I thought I would put one together. There are so many different options for signs at your wedding; wood, paper, calligraphy. I love seeing how brides incorporate different signs into their wedding celebrations. Below is some inspiration for wedding day signs.

While black and white damask has had it’s time for popularity, I think stripes are an incredible alternative to damask. Stripes can be in any color, but I’m seeing mostly black and white or navy and white. I’m definitely excited about this growing trend and can’t wait to see how brides and event planners incorporate it into more weddings and events!

Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, Winter Inspiration, wedding decor
Tents have become increasingly popular in weddings these days, especially for those outdoor locations that might otherwise get a bit chilly. My favorites are the clear tents, and the tent frames with just fabric draped around the edges. Although tents can be a bit expensive, when done right they can add so much to your wedding. Especially if rain or cold weather is in the forecast for your outdoor location. If you are planning a wedding or celebration, and plan to have a tent, definitely check out this article on Brides. It’s incredibly helpful for choosing the right tent for you. Below is some of my favorite inspiration for tents at a wedding.

Charming and unique, using vintage china in your reception decor can add a bit of eclectic whimsy. I’m loving the little tea cups and saucers as bud vases. Mix and matched plates make a beautiful alternative to white china. These beautiful wares can be found on ebay, antique shops and even thrift stores!

1 CommentHave an ugly wall you need to cover at your reception? Or just looking for a way to spruce up a ceremony or reception? Fabric may be the answer. Incredibly versatile, fabric can be used in a variety of situations for your wedding celebrations. I love the look of it draped across a ceiling, or stretched out to create an “outdoor” ceiling. Just a few weeks ago, I was the stylist of my best friend’s wedding and I suggested using black fabric to cover the not so pretty pictures in her reception hall, then to hang their e-session pics on the black fabric, creating something much more pleasing to the eye and fun to look at.
Below are some of my favorite inspirations at the moment for decorating with fabric.

I have been seeing a lot of vintage inspired e-sessions and weddings around the web lately, and I have to say I’m a big fan. Whether it’s 1950’s or 1930’s, each and every wedding or e-session is unique and personal. Below are some of my favorites.

If you have read this blog for a while, you know by now that I’m a big fan or fruit. Eating it, as well as decorating with it. Besides being budget and eco friendly, fruit looks beautiful when paired with flowers, or it can stand on it’s own. It can be used to spruce up a cake, as a centerpiece or as decor around your reception or ceremony site. Below are some of my favorite fruit inspirations.

The ceiling, known as the 5th wall by some, is sometimes forgotten when it comes to home and wedding decor. I am always in awe of wedding celebrations where the ceiling is used to hang something extraordinary. There are several planners who have this down to a tee. Lisa Vorce and Michelle Rago are two of them. I absolutely love how Lisa uses the “ceiling” to decorate, even when the event is outside. Below are some of my favorite images using the ceiling to decorate.
