Last week I shared the invitation for this shoot with you, now onto the shoot itself! A fun little side note. The dogs in the first image are Orbo and Cooper. They belong to Zohe from Felici Events and Michael from Louloudi Design and just happen to be at the shoot. Joking around, Zohe suggested we pose them in the shoot. They were so good, and the pictures turned out adorable! Good call on Zohe’s part!

A little bit about the shoot from yours truly…

Some time last year I was reading through my Architectural Digest and came across a room, and I thought, ‘Wow, this would make an absolutely stunning wedding.’ Taking inspiration from the patterns in the tapestries of the pillows, I envisioned an event with whites, creams and pops of color from the tapestry patterns. I loved the idea of bringing tapestry fabric into the paper products and overall decor. When I met with Zohe Felici from Felici Events about my idea she was totally on board, and even saw the image in a new light that I hadn’t noticed. She said the tables and walls in the room looked a little bit Greek, which I totally agreed! Zohe scouted a couple locations and we ended up at the magnificent Moody Estate in Santa Barbara, which was an absolutely perfect location for our vision! Zohe brought on board the amazing Michael Mantalos from Louloudi Design to do the florals and help with the overall decor. Capturing the shoot perfectly was the talented and super sweet Allyson Magda.

Our models were actually an engaged couple, Scott Topper and Angelina Rodriguez who are also, coincidentally, wedding professionals as well. This was a fun little pre-wedding shoot for them. The hair and make-up was done by Tomiko Taft, who is so amazing at what she does.

We had such an amazing group of vendors pull this shoot together. Everyone added their own signature style to the shoot which I loved. It just goes to show that you can find inspiration anywhere you look! Sometimes I even get ideas for color palettes just looking at nature; the sky, a humming bird or the different hues of blue in the ocean. Inspiration is all around us!

The invitation I shared with you Monday was just the beginning of this fabulous party, hosted by Armando Martinez of Alegria By Design. The photographer was the amazing Jeff Shipley. The entire evening was filled with wild fun, go-go dancers painted as animals and fire dancers. My husband and I had such a fun time (see us below).

The evening’s attendees were all event professionals from the Santa Barbara area. Above is Laura Sangas of Cody Floral and Melissa Musgrove. Mar and her crew from Team Hair and Make-up was on hand to paint the guest’s in an animal pattern of their choice. So fun!

Melissa has an incredible talent for capturing lighting. I love the ceremony shot with the lens flair, and the sweet couple walking along the beach with their bike.

Working in the wedding industry, you get to meet lots of amazingly talented people. The Santa Barbara area especially has some incredible talent, so I’ve decided to start a series of post dedicated to the fabulous wedding vendors in the Santa Barbara area.

Kicking off the series is the fabulous Nico Cervantes of Nico Designs. I had the pleasure of meeting Nico a few months ago and continue to be absolutely amazed at his talent. He definitely has a knack for style and color, as well as keeping ahead of the trends in the industry. He’s been featured recently on Wedding Chicks and Style Me Pretty, and is definitely one to keep an eye on! Be sure to follow him on twitter and become a fan on Facebook. Below is some of his recent work that I’m completely head over heels for.
