Located in the historic seaside town of Cayucos, California, The Cass House Inn and Restaurant has a rich and vibrant history that spans more than 140 years. The town of Cayucos was originally founded by Captain James Cass in the 1800’s and this house served as the hub of all cultural and social life in Cayucos. This wedding, shot by Jen Rodriguez, is completely beautiful with charming organic chic style. I love the flowers, done by Manzanita Designs, and details throughout the event, not to mention the charming location. All the incredible looking food was done by The Cass House Inn.

Subtle, warm and inviting, natural light is the essence of a good picture. It can add just the right glow and a make a picture that much more pleasing to look at. A lot of photographers have capturing lighting down to a tee. Trever Hoehne is one of them. His photographs emit that incredible warmth that a lot of photographers long to capture. Not only is his wedding photography good, I am completely enamored by his “places” images. Definitely check out his website, you won’t be disappointed!

I have been seeing a lot of vintage inspired e-sessions and weddings around the web lately, and I have to say I’m a big fan. Whether it’s 1950’s or 1930’s, each and every wedding or e-session is unique and personal. Below are some of my favorites.

I stumbled upon Apertura via Inspired By This, and I am so glad I did. Apertura, a photography studio based in California, captures incredibly artistic and heartfelt images. They certainly have a defining style, which is so important in this industry. They were voted as one of the Top 10 Photographers for 2009 by American Photo Magazine. Below are some of my favorite images. Be sure to check out their site for weddings and e-sessions galore.

3 CommentsI rarely post anything personal on this blog, but these I wanted to share. My good friend Gena recently started her own photography business, Gena Susan Photography, and my husband and I had the privileged to pose for one of her couples sessions. Gena’s way of capturing light is incredible and she is so fun and easy going to work with. I just love her talent and simply love how these images turned out. Gena is based in the Santa Barbara area of California and is available for travel. Her sister Tonya is also an incredibly talented photographer, who we have featured here before.
Definitely check out Gena’s website and blog for eye candy galore!

I am completely obsessed with this absolutely breathtaking wedding by Matthew Robbins of Artfool. I have to admit, I am a huge fan of anything Artfool does and this celebration was no exception. Photographed by Lilian Haidar, this wedding took place in Orvieto, Italy. I honestly can’t think of a more lovely setting for a ceremony. That view is absolutely incredible and I love how Matthew brought the colors of the surroundings into the flowers and decor.
Visit Artfool for more breathtaking images.

Vintage, antique and lovely in every way, sepia photos are becoming more popular in weddings and wedding photography. A beautiful alternative to black and white, sepia lends that subtle vintage quality to any photograph. Below are some of my favorites.

If you are an avid wedding blog reader, you have probably already seen this absolutely stunning photo shoot, styled by Rebecca Stone of Duet Weddings. I have to admit, purple has never really been one of my favorite colors; dark purple, yes, but not true purple. However, after seeing this photo shoot, I can’t get over how much I love the purple in this event!! Absolutely stunning job, Rebecca! All photos taken by Corbin Gurkin. See the full post here.

Ceci New York designed the ultra fab wedding invitation just for the shoot.

Camille from Modern Day Design was on board for all the floral arrangements. -

1 CommentLocations to Love… One and Only Palmilla Resort, Los Cabos, Mexico
Posted in: BLOG CATEGORIES, locations, photography, real weddings
For destination weddings, Mexico is a popular choice and with good reason; beautiful weather, pristine beaches and an all around good feeling. One of my favorite locations is the One and Only Palmilla Resort in Los Cabos. I think what I like most about this location is the small and sweet wedding chapel they have on the property. Not to mention the whole place is absolutely breathtaking!
