When I met with Danielle and Erik last year to chat with them about their upcoming wedding, I was so excited to start working on their wedding day papers. Danielle loved lace, and wanted to incorporate that into her invitations. The colors they chose for their wedding were a soft and romantic palette of ice blue, peach, champagne, butter yellow and gold. Such an amazing palette!

We got right to work on their save the date; a fun little book, with a picture of them on the inside which tied closed with an ice blue satin ribbon and was mailed in a matching ice blue envelope.

Tip: It’s always fun to use colored envelopes on your save the dates and invitation. That way when your guests open their mailbox it’s a pop of unexpected color in a sea of white envelopes.

For Danielle and Erik’s invitation we used ice blue paper with gold foil stamping. The script for their invitation was done in calligraphy for that soft romantic look. Tied with a peach satin bow, the invitation was also backed and framed in ivory lace.

The reply card, as well as the brunch invitation and map and direction cards were printed on champagne colored paper.

I loved the end result of the gold foil on the blue paper.

Danielle wanted to be sure that her invitations didn’t look like baby shower invitations, since her color scheme, if done wrong, could potentially look like a baby shower. We totally pulled it off and Danielle was incredibly happy with the end result.

In addition to the save the date and invitations, I also did programs, menus, table numbers, escort cards and favor box stickers for Danielle and Erik.

I was so thrilled to be able to work with Danielle and Erik. They’re a wonderful couple with great style! Their wedding is pending publication, but I can’t wait to share it with you soon!

This invitation was for a 50th birthday celebration. Kathy, the birthday girl, loves peonies and wanted to incorporate them into her big celebration. She loved the look of letterpress and wax seals as well. With that in mind, I set to work creating Kathy’s fun and pink invitation suite!

    6_calligraphy

Guest’s received pink envelopes with stunning calligraphy by Nicole Black. The envelopes were lined in a pink peony pattern.

    1_Calligraphy_Letterpress

I designed a custom wax seal for Kathy, which brought in the accent color of chocolate brown.

The back of the reply card featured the same peony pattern as the envelope liner and belly band.

I also designed a map and accommodation card for Kathy’s out of town guest’s.

The invitation was incredibly well received! A perfect opener to Kathy’s amazing birthday celebration, which I’ll be sharing with you soon!

When Michelle contacted me to design her save the date, I was incredibly excited because I knew it was going to be a fun challenge. On her save the date, Michelle requested that no white, cream or neutral colors be used. Her wedding colors were the fabulous combination of Fuchsia, Emerald Green and Plum.

The save the date was delivered in a pink envelope, and inside the envelope, a sumptuous green silk sleeve housed the invitation.

The photo save the date for her was complete with accommodation information on the inside, as well as the couple’s wedding website where guest’s could find even more information about the big day.

With their wedding to take place in New Orleans, I wanted to incorporate some of the beautiful iron work found throughout the city on their save the date as well.

I’ve gotten a lot of requests for black and white wedding invitations in the last year or so. Definitely a trend I like, as classic black and white has always been a favorite of mine…

    jungle_party_invitation

A few months ago I had the pleasure of designing the invitations and programs for Armando Martinez‘s annual holiday party in Santa Barbara. The theme for the event was Jungle Safari, and the inspiration Armando gave me was a bit of an 80′s Nagel vibe. Armando wanted something fun, different and not letterpress; something that the event professionals in Santa Barbara would think was completely different and unique. Not a hard task for me as I love thinking out of the box!

    Zebra_print

I designed a jungle scene that was then laser cut. The invitation was delivered in a yellow envelope lined with black and white zebra stripes. Such a fun invitation to receive and open!

For the inside I did jungle foliage in a pink/purple gradient that had a total 80′s feel to it.

I wanted to include my logo on the invitation so I had it laser cut as well to match the overall feel of the suite.

The invitation was incredibly well received! Very exciting for me. I always wish I could be the fly on the wall when people receive my invitations. =) Check back Wednesday as I’ll share pictures from the actual party! You don’t want to miss it!

For their destination wedding in Mexico, Ashton and Jacob wanted an invitation that was glamorous and chic. Their wedding decor was to consist of lots of pillar candles and roses so with that inspiration in mind and a few design thoughts from Ashton, I went to work designing an invitation suite that would be the perfect opener for their elegant wedding.

As soon as Melissa sent me the inspiration for her wedding, I knew it was going to be an incredibly elegant affair with hints of modern details. For her invitation, Melissa wanted letterpress,  and to incorporate a lace backing onto the invitation…

    letterpress_wedding_invitat

I designed a square invitation suite that included a gold lined envelope with beautiful calligraphy and lace backing on the invitation. Two color letterpress appears on the invitation and reply card.

Melissa was having a rehearsal dinner and send off brunch that not all her guests were invited to. I designed a separate invitation with detachable reply card that was included in these guest’s invitations only.

Melissa and Brandon loved their invitations and their guests were all thrilled when they received the invitations in the mail. Their wedding turned out stunning! It has been submitted for publication, but I hope to be able to feature it soon.

    Black_White_Pink_Invitation

Back in December I had the pleasure of collaborating on a photoshoot with Armando of Alegria By Design. The shoot was recently featured on Wedding Chicks (more to come on that soon), but I wanted to feature the invitation and paper products I did for the shoot first.

    Pink_Save_The_Date

For the save the date, I did a fuchsia paper with rounded corners to keep with the clean lines feel of the shoot. The envelope was white, and lined in black lace for an extra pop.

    Glam_Wedding_Invite

The style of the shoot was a 1950′s Mod Hollywood Glamour. For the invitation I did an oval shape with black lace over fuchsia paper. I added a chandelier accented with jet black swarvosky crystals for added glamour. The envelope for the invitation was fuchsia lined in glossy black paper.

    Reply_card

For the reply card I wanted to play off the crystals on the chandelier and keep with the oval shape for the invitation suite. The reply card envelope has boarderless printing with the same crystals on the envelope flap.

    Round_Menus

Keeping with the modern 1950′s feel I opted for a round menu. It went great with the feel of the whole shoot and kept in that “clean lines” feel of the whole suite.

    Wedding_Menu

The table numbers were made from the same fuchsia paper with black lace overlay and accented with the jet black swarvosky crystals.

    Table_Numbers

I loved this whole suite, but I think my favorite pieces were the escort cards. Printed on fuchsia paper with black lace trim. The inside of each card was lined with black and white stripes. I love putting something on the inside portion of tented escort cards. It’s a fun and unexpected place to find a design.

A while back I had the opportunity to collaborate with some fabulous talent from Santa Barbara. The idea was to take chocolate confections from the amazing Jessica Foster, and design a shoot around chocolate; a bit like a chocolate after party. I went to work designing an invitation printed on actual chocolate, delivered in the wooden box on a bed of moss and tied with a leather cord. Come on in and enjoy the goodness…

    Chocolate_Party_1

The location we shot as was the Santa Barbara Club in downtown Santa Barbara. It’s a stunning location that was built in 1904 and still has that old fashioned charm.

    Chocolate_Party_2

All the images were shot by Melissa Musgrove, an incredibly talented and fun photographer from Santa Barbara.

    Chocolate_Party_3

Nico Cervantes of Nico Designs did all the decor elements, and event had the ingenious idea to dip flowers and antlers in chocolate.

    Chocolate_Invitation

Zohe Felici of Felici Events coordinated the entire shoot and did an amazing job of getting everyone together and securing the fabulous location.

    Chocolate_Shoot_5

Of course, the chocolates were amazing. Jessica is such a talented chocolate chef! Her chocolate goodies are available for shipping nationwide.
