Spanish Influence

A while back I saw this color palette on Snippet and Ink and fell in love with the color combination. I knew I wanted to design an invitation around this palette of colors, and here is what I came up with.

The invitation came out with a bit of a Spanish vibe, which I love.

The back of the invitation features a pocket, with laser cut detail.

Vintage Garden Journal Invitation

Inspired by this board from Snippet and Ink, this invitation by Zenadia Design is truly a one of a kind keepsake. Modeled after a garden journal, it features the story of how Lela and Kevin met, as well as a seed packet of when the first “seeds were planted.” Invitation and weekend event info is found on the following pages, as well as blank pages at the back of the hand bound book where guests can record their thoughts and paste pictures from the event to really make the invitation book personal to them.

The journal invitation was delivered in a box, resting on a bed of real moss.

It’s pages featured different plant and flower species that were special to Lela and Kevin, and being used in the wedding celebration.

Classic Glamour Invitation

Near and dear to my heart, this invitation suite was designed for one of my best friends who was married earlier this year. I was so thrilled to be able to work with Karina and Alan on their invitation. Karina’s vision for her wedding was something completely elegant and lavish. The general word that came up most often was “fancy”. Karina’s color scheme was black and white with hints of sapphire blue. I designed a pocket fold invitation with black on black printing of damask. A streamlined belly band and bow made from double faced satin held the pocket fold closed. The invitation featured sapphire blue swarvosky crystals accenting the bold damask pattern on the top. The pocket held the reply, direction and reception cards, as well as an additional invitation to the couples Ohio reception. Invitation by Zenadia Design.

Spanish Lace

You may remember the photo shoot we did with Constance Curtis a while back. It was featured here on Green Wedding Shoes, and also here on our blog. We designed an invitation for the shoot that they didn’t end up using, but I wanted to share it here now. The invitation is printed on cotton paper and framed and backed in hand tea dyed lace. The reply envelope is also lined in the same tea dyed lace to give it a real vintage feel.

Bold and Beautiful

One of the places I constantly find inspiration is from fashion. I get Harper’s Bazaar every month and love looking through each issue. In the February issue, they featured some trends for Spring 2010. They mixed a lot of different patterns together for a fresh and fun look and I loved it! I created my own inspiration board with a couple images from the spread, as well as an invitation inspired by the board. I love the bold look of the black and white, and the pop of yellow that really gives it a fresh and fun vibe.

Carvival Inspired

Whenever I have a little down time, I like to design invitations just for fun. My mind is constantly thinking of new invitation designs so it’s always fun to sit down and create a design that’s been on my mind for a while. Several months ago I had some down time, so off to work I went on a few invitations. This one was inspired by the board below from Snippet and Ink. Zenadia Design set out to create an invitation that was unique and full of fun, with personal and vintage touches here and there. Below is our inspiration and the invitation.

This invitation features a laser cut outline to match the design on the merry go round and a hand drawn illustration by Francis Birchfield. Reply card is embellished with vintage carnival tickets and red and white stripes line the mailing envelope.

Lovely in Lace

One of the most requested materials for invitations this year has been lace. I’ve always loved lace, and the fact that it can be dressed up or down for a formal or casual celebration. Lace has been one of my favorite materials to work with for quite some time now so I’ve been really excited at all the lace invitation requests I’ve had this year. I’m always thinking of new and fun ways to use it in invitation design. Below are some of our lace invitations. All featured lace invitations by Zenadia Design.

Spanish Style

A while back I had the pleasure of collaborating on a photoshoot with Constance Curtis, of Constance Curtis Events. She was going for a vintage Spanish style look with a churro bar, which I thought was such a fun idea! I was so excited to be able to create the paper products including the signs for this shoot. For the menu, I used tea dyed lace as the trim on a Spanish style fan. My favorite pieces were the bride and groom (or novio and novia) signs. Using the trend of silhouettes, I took it a step further and used a matador and flamenco dancer, and then embellished them with lace, glitter and velvet for some texture. I also created the churro sign and Mi Amore sign used in the shoot. The first set of pictures includes what Zenadia Design created for the shoot and the following pictures are the decor and flowers. All of these pictures are from Christine Bentley but Oz Visuals was also on hand to capture some shots that day!

Constance and The Vine’s Leaf did an absoluty amazing job on the decor and flowers! I love all the different plates and can’t get enough of the colors and patterns!

Venetian Luxury

Inspired by our Venetian glamour color palette, this invitation is full of luxury. Delivered in a black silk box and tied with a cream satin bow, guests open the box to reveal the invitation printed on sumptuous cotton paper. The folding reply card has website information, as well as fun Italian details in the wording. A simple card specifies black tie.
