Near and dear to my heart, this invitation suite was designed for one of my best friends who was married earlier this year. I was so thrilled to be able to work with Karina and Alan on their invitation. Karina’s vision for her wedding was something completely elegant and lavish. The general word that came up most often was “fancy”.  Karina’s color scheme was black and white with hints of sapphire blue. I designed a pocket fold invitation with black on black printing of damask. A streamlined belly band and bow made from double faced satin held the pocket fold closed. The invitation featured sapphire blue swarvosky crystals accenting the bold damask pattern on the top. The pocket held the reply, direction and reception cards, as well as an additional invitation to the couples Ohio reception. Invitation by Zenadia Design.

Well when Jean sent me the images from her wedding, captured by the utterly brilliant Ben Chrisman and Erin Reed of Ben Chrisman Photography I was awe struck. Ben and Erin’s talent for capturing emotion is beyond words. You can feel the fun, happiness and excitement coming off these images. I’ve never seen a wedding captured quite like this, and I LOVE it. This wedding has been featured on Junebug Weddings, here and here, but I wanted to share a few more of the amazing images with you. (Ok let’s be honest here, I couldn’t pick just a few!) Be sure and check back for part II a little bit later.

Last year, Jean contacted me to design a color palette for her, and help her with the general look and color pairing for her wedding. After designing the color palette for her, I had the pleasure of working with her and Michael on their wedding invitations! Jean and Michael was such fun to work with, and I simply loved how their invitations turned out. Below is the inspiration board I created for her and what we based the invitation design from, followed by the invitation design.

For their invitation, we used Mexican tile pattern’s to play into the destination wedding theme. Personalized passport stamps and vintage ribbon from France make up the outer part of the invitation. Open the invitation to reveal a pink vellum sheet with the Mexican tile pattern on it, as well as a pocket for the folding reply card. All delivered in a fuchsia pink envelope.

Lindsay and Charles were engaged in Paris, and Lindsay wanted their wedding invitations to reflect the elegance that Paris exudes. Since I love all things French I was thrilled to be able to work with them on their invitations! Taking inspiration from Paris, the movie Gigi and keeping in mind that Charles didn’t want anything to femminine or fancy, I set to work designing for them. The end result was beautiful offset printed invitations on cotton paper. The invitation was framed and backed in plum colored cloth. For their reply card booklet, we used an image on the cover that Charles and Lindsay had taken from their apartment window (the famous view where Charles proposed to Lindsay as the Eiffel tower was sparkling with lights). The inside had meal choices with “respondez s’il vous plait”, of course. Calligraphy in plum on blush colored envelopes was done by Pretty Pen Jen.

For their late September wedding, Kristi and Edward wanted an invitation that would be classic, elegant and formal. Their wedding was to take place in Malibu, California but Kristi wanted nothing to do with the beach on the invitations. Her dress, as you can see from our inspiration, was made of lace, so Kristi wanted to incorporate lace into the invitation somewhere. Her invitations were delivered in metallic gold envelopes. Guests opened the envelope to reveal the invitation, tied with an elegant gold bow and backed in cream colored lace. Offset printed in cream and dark navy, these invitations were the perfect opener to Kristi and Edward’s elegant wedding day.

New York City, a city of historic landmarks, towering sky scrapers and lush Central Park, was the location for Kelly and Rob’s Autumn wedding. With the reception taking place at The American Museum of Natural History, Kelly and Rob wanted a simple wedding invitation with a little vintage flair.

    The Inspiration

    The Invitation

We designed a pocket-fold invitation, complete with custom wax seal. The reply card played up the reception venue location with a sketch of the museum, and “admit” and “no admittance” for the reply options. The hotel information and direction card was in the form of a book, with a vintage New York City map as the cover.

For Kelly and Rob’s escort cards, we also played on the reception location by naming the tables after animals in the museum. Escort cards were made to resemble little brochures, all with a question and fun fact about the animal your table was.
