One of the things I noticed Mary does a lot of, is incorporating blue and white porcelain into her decor. I love this idea, because blue and white can go with so many color combinations, and can add that eclectic feel to your home or wedding decor.

This wedding by Jonathan Canlas used blue and white china for their reception tables, and I think it turned out really nice. I think piecing together 3-4 different shaped vases or containers in the blue and white would look amazing. Hopefully this is a new trend that stays, as I love blue and white porcelain!

As many of you know, I’m an avid reader of Harper’s Bazaar Magazine. Every time I get a new issue I can’t wait to read through it and glean the incredible inspration that awaits me. The covers of this wonderful magazine are no exception. New and old, Harper’s covers are always an inspiration.

You would think that these colors might clash, but on the contrary, it’s quite stunning! This just goes to show that you don’t have to have one set color scheme for both your ceremony and reception. I hope we see a growing trend of multiple color schemes for weddings. It’s such fun and definitely keeps things fun for the guests.

Family is very important to me, so we have a huge family wall in our living room with our wedding picture in the middle and our families on either side.

The white cabinet in the background is an old medicine cabinet my grandpa had in his workshop. I always saw potential in it, as it was a mess at the time, so my dad took it and painted it for me.

These are some of the things I keep in the cabinet. Everything in the cabinet came from my granny and means a lot to me.

My office, located in my home, is painted in one of my favorite colors. When I first started my business, red was one of the colors in my branding. I’ve since changed my branding style which no longer includes red, but I’ve kept it in my office because I find it such a fun and inspiring color to work around.

Color. On buildings, in weddings, anywhere! I love color!

History and Europe. I love the art, and incredible architecture that is found in Europe. The details in the buildings, not to mention the incredible artwork on the inside of some of the buildings is complete and utter inspiration. Not only am I inspired by the buildings themselves, but the way the cities are laid out is inspiration in itself.

High Fashion. I’m constantly inspired by whats on the runway. I love incorporating  fabric and textiles into my work, so I take great inspiration from fashion.  Harper’s Bazaar is on my office table at all times because not only am I inspired by the fashion itself, but I am smitten with fashion photography too.

Nature and The Outdoors. Anything in nature I find inspiring. Old tress branches entwined together, or a simple rose with dew on the edges. Sometimes nature gives me inspiration for a color palette. Like the gray of the clouds against a blue sky with a white seagull flying by.

I was completely in awe when I saw this particular event on Yifat’s site. A reception on a dock, with incredible linen, pattern and lighting? I die.

Yifat was nice enough to answer some questions for me about her inspiration and all things beautiful…

Zenadia Design: I love that your events are so unique and and completely different from any other events out there. What inspires you as you are designing?

Yifat Oren: First of all, I love what I do and I feel so fortunate to have extraordinary clients, many artists and designers,  that inspire me to push the envelope.  I see inspiration all around me.  I see it in architecture, landscapes, art, fashion, and design.  I don’t really look at bridal magazines for inspiration, I look at the world around me.  I could see a book or a photo in an exhibit and build an entire event around it.  I visit an organic vegetable garden and dream up a seasonal menu from its harvest.    Finally,  I draw inspiration from my clients, figure out their aesthetic, their essence and infuse soulful details into every event.

ZD: Do you have a  favorite event you have worked on and why?

YO: I could never choose just one event!  I couldn’t even tell you my favorite one last year, too many incredible ones to choose from.  We have this funny little contest around the office where we pick our ‘best of’ each year.   We’ve had some incredible events over the years and some clients we have fallen in love with.   You can check out some of our favorites as of late on our new website www.yifatoren.com.

ZD: I love your use of color and patterns. What are your favorite colors to work with?

YO: A lot depends on the location I am working at but I love a really light icy blue and I love Coral.  There are coral colored peonies that I am crazy about.  I love yellow, but it has to be the right hue.
