Entrancing color, balance and incredible details are all elements of an interior done by Kishani Perera. Ever since I saw this post from the blog Elements of Style, I’ve had a major obsession with Kishani Perera. Her interiors are the epitome of luxury and taste. I’ve gotten so much inspiration from her design for everything from my own home to color palettes for weddings, as has been evident here. Below are some of her images currently in my inspiration folder…

Whenever I create an invitation, I’m always excited to hear what my clients color palette’s are for their event, as I believe color plays a big role in our senses and how we feel and react to things. I’ve always had a fascination for color, so when it came time for me to decorate my home, I knew I wanted lots of warm and inviting colors. Taking my inspiration from French and Italian decor, I created an environment that I fine peaceful, warm and welcoming. My favorite place to be when I want to relax is in my home. I think it’s so fun to see people’s houses, so I thought I would take a minute and share mine with you.

Family is very important to me, so we have a huge family wall in our living room with our wedding picture in the middle and our families on either side.

The white cabinet in the background is an old medicine cabinet my grandpa had in his workshop. I always saw potential in it, as it was a mess at the time, so my dad took it and painted it for me.

These are some of the things I keep in the cabinet. Everything in the cabinet came from my granny and means a lot to me.

My office, located in my home, is painted in one of my favorite colors. When I first started my business, red was one of the colors in my branding. I’ve since changed my branding style which no longer includes red, but I’ve kept it in my office because I find it such a fun and inspiring color to work around.

Charming and unique, using vintage china in your reception decor can add a bit of eclectic whimsy. I’m loving the little tea cups and saucers as bud vases. Mix and matched plates make a beautiful alternative to white china. These beautiful wares can be found on ebay, antique shops and even thrift stores!

The ceiling, known as the 5th wall by some, is sometimes forgotten when it comes to home and wedding decor. I am always in awe of wedding celebrations where the ceiling is used to hang something extraordinary. There are several planners who have this down to a tee. Lisa Vorce and Michelle Rago are two of them. I absolutely love how Lisa uses the “ceiling” to decorate, even when the event is outside. Below are some of my favorite images using the ceiling to decorate.

Its easy to forget about the floor when you are planning a wedding or decorating your house. Most floors at weddings are mainly plain, however some ballrooms or rented floors have the classic checkerboard pattern. I absolutely love the look of these floors, especially when paired with the right colors. They add such an amazing feeling to a room or event space.

I know this has nothing what-so-ever to do with weddings, but how fabulous is this chair?! I totally love it. Found on etsy shop Spruce Home.

They have some amazing chairs and furnishings that I would love to add to my home.

Remember the wedding we featured yesterday? (If you missed it be SURE and check it out!) Well I found this picture in my December 2008 Architectural Digest and thought it went right along with yesterday’s wedding! I think I might just have to go out and buy myself some of those star lights!
